Mary Sue Dreier

Mary Sue is interested in new church developments, rural congregations, and the challenges facing both pastors and their congregations in this new era of mission. As a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) for more than 25 years, she has served as pastor in rural two-point, large suburban, and new mission development congregations, as well as part-time rural minister on a synod staff and co-director of the project at Church Innovations which led to the development of the Partnership for Missional Church.

Currently writing her dissertation for the Ph.D. from Luther Seminary in Congregational Mission and Leadership, Mary Sue will join the Luther Seminary faculty in January 2008. She is addressing how missional congregations might publicly participate in the life of the communities in which God plants them.

Mary Sue is interested in discovering the unique gifts God has given you for mission, whether yours is a new or existing congregation! She welcomes working with the wide range of challenges facing your congregation in this new era of mission, from evangelism to revitalization to innovation to stewardship as God’s mission leads you into the public setting of your community.
